Weekending...time to catch up

Well it's been a busy month and there's only a few more days to before April arrives!  I have to admit working part time and looking after our three little kids means I am one busy mama.  We've had a lot on our minds lately hence another reason for not blogging so much.

This month we've been face timing our beautiful friend, Cobie, who is returning home from Germany soon.  For 5 years Cobie has been fighiting Osteosarcoma, a form of childhood cancer.  On March 14, the local community declared it was 'Wear pink for Cobie' day.  The entire town dressed in pink to support her and raise some funds to help Cobie receive potentially life saving treatment in Germany.  You would recognise Cobie from my blog as we are friends and I often refer to her as 'B'.  When Master flutterbug was little he couldn't say Cobie but said 'B' instead. We so look forward to seeing her soon and I hope she is prepared for a massive amount of hugs and kisses from three of her biggest fans.

Last weekend our Relay for Life team coordinated a social bowls fundraiser.  Many people from the local community joined together for a fun afternoon.

Of course we've had time to stop at the park and cafe for some morning tea and an opportunity to enjoy the sunshine.

There's also been a little bit of crafting going on - only crayons and paper but that's a past time we never get tired of.  In the spirit of the new season, I also completed a collage for my classroom.

Finally, happy 10 months to our little man today (above). My Oh My he is getting so big.  Those cheeks are so kissable!

Happy Weekending to you.

moment from the week

A joint collage made by all the kindy students. I love all the colours and materials they used but I particularly love those butterflies!

Up to mischief...

Hello, I hope you are having a lovely week so far.  My original blog post will be delayed because you may enjoy this one a whole lot more.

As you may have realised from some of my blog photos we bought an ipad and iphones for Christmas.
It's probably nothing new for anyone who already uses this type of technology but it's all new to me.  One word - amazing.
There are so many neat things you can do.  One thing I like is when you take photos on your phone or ipad and it automatically syncs with your computer/laptop.

The kids also like using the ipad even though we have only two apps on there for them.  We also have pretty strict rules when it comes to the little people using the ipad e.g. you have to ask to use the ipad, no eating while using the ipad, you must sit down when using the ipad, no walking around with the ipad, - so much for rules - just look at what I discovered on my laptop via ipad.

There were one billion face shots and agazillion Peppa Pig TV shots.  I think the last image of sandwiches and strawberries was thoughtfully constructed by little miss flutterby - she loves playschool, sandwiches and strawberries (Play School app).  How wonderful you can get all your favourite things in one app!

It's funny to see their perspective through a camera or in this case, ipad.

It's also amazing how they know how to do things with these devices (since they can't actually read and all).  So far they have constructed drawings, saved them and sent them to our email account to print, they can facetime and let's not talk about how they seem to know how to buy apps and then actually buy them but that's another story.  Somehow I think we will have to reassess our rules.

weekending...(2)

Another rainy day means trying on our new gumboots and discovering new things in our garden.

 Happy weekending to you.

weekending...

Autumn would have to be one of my favourite seasons of the year.  Cooler days mean a little longer outside in the morning and a little earlier inside in the evenings.  In Autumn there is so much to see - many flowers bloom, the garden is ever changing and there are new recipes to try using treasures from our backyard.

My apologies for not posting this week.  Balancing work life and home life is a challenge but add in sickness and overnight trips away for work and things can get a bit hectic. All this busyness was one of the main reasons why I actually began blogging - to have a break from the busyness - to pause - to stop - to appreciate, no matter how small, the everyday moments.

I hope you are able to do the same.
xo
